Placer v Rio Linda

Placer found it's way to the Knights to see if they could extend their unbeaten streak. The Knights were many, but Placer showed their character. Basque and Briggs started us off in JV matches with 2 pins! Grant Eklund wrestled one of their captains and even though he was a freshman giving up 10 lbs, he barely lost a close decision. Jonathon Griffith started the Placer scoring with a 2nd round pin at 113. Logan Moon continued the trend, summarily throwing his man to his back and pinning him in the first. Justus Haskin took on their other captain, the same guy that painfully pinned him at No Guts No Glory. This time, Justus fought off the leg ride attack to lose a close decision. That would be all the scoring for a while, as the Hillmen went on a 5 match winning streak, where Macoy Reed, River Rogers, and Thomas Thornton all earned quick pins. Mason Packheiser took the forfeit at 145, while Drake Rayburn earned an 8-3 win. Cole Upton gave up a lot of weight, but fought through the entire match. At this point, the score was 39-12. Good thing too, because Placer had 3 forfeits. Alejandro Rosales took on his nemesis who had already defeated him at previous tournaments. They were tied 1-1 at the end of 2, and even with an injury break, Alex kept it close with a narrow defeat. Final: 39-33, Placer! Great job Hillmen.
