In the first ever FVL championship tournament, the Placer Hillmen made it clear that their season was not done. Out of the 15 wrestlers that went (13 boys and two girls), 13 are going to divisions next week. Taking top honors were AJ Ferreira (115) and River Rogers (147). Both our seniors Bryce Cook (140) and Joseph Valdez (172) took second. Third place went to Logan Moon (108), Chance Clements (122), and Noah Cardelli (162). Finishing out our qualifiers in fourth place were Justus Haskin (128), Jacob Roe (182), Zach Moman (195), and Cameron Briggs (287). Abby Boynton and Saybra Silveria both go to Ceres for division championships, while the 11 boys that qualified go to Atwater. Tournament stand outs were FVL MVP's AJ Ferreira and River Rogers who dominated their opponents all day.

The most exciting matches of the day go to Cameron Briggs who beat his opponent from Rio Linda by a pin in the first period. Briggs lost to him earlier in the season, but his hard work paid off as that victory punched his ticket to the next level. The other match was with Noah Cardelli against his Lincoln opponent. It was a back and forth high scoring event, with Cardelli winning in the last seconds with a reversal that put his opponent on his back!

Way to go Placer!!
