  • Defending the Gladiator Arena Placer took to the mat Saturday to defend the gladiator arena know as the Earl Crabbe gym. It would be the last home competition for this crazy covid year, and senior appreciation for all seven of Placer's departing seniors (Logan Moon, Chance Clements, Justus Haskin, Emily Reynolds, Ethan Basque, Aidan Alvarez, and Alex Rosales). The Hillmen would not disappoint their socially distanced crowd. Wyatt Hardtke, Logan Moon, Bre Packheiser, Jackson Addison, Ian Reynolds, Sean Fleming, Jack Spaid, Grant Eklund, Enzo Gallo, Ethan Basque, Justus Haskin, Chance Clements, and Jaxson Ramirez ALL pinned their opponents. Senior Alex Rosales blanked his opponent 10-0. Every senior that had a match won this glorious day and drove the crowd into a frenzy ...

  • Placer v Lincoln/West Park Placer lost a close one against Lincoln. Lots of great wrestling, started off with Grant Eklund's victory over Juarez of Lincoln. Moon, and Haskin followed with 2 pins to put Placer in the lead. Lincoln took the next few matches until Alex Rosales finished off with a pin of his own. Placer pinned all but one West Park opponent against West Park! Great job!!

Coach Pack's Corner

What a great way to deal with a crazy season. I am so proud of our Placer wrestling team!
Some great "blast from the past" in these season highlight videos. Watch how it is done!

For the boys, hands down it was Logan Moon who pinned his way to first place in 2021 State championship. Although there were many great performances, Moon showed that when you put people on their backs, you tend to win... a LOT! Nothing was going to deny him of victory that day.

For girls, Breanna Packheiser fought her way back in to consolation bracket to get revenge on her only loss of the day by pinning her to take third at state. Not bad for a freshman. I can't wait to see what comes next for her.
