  • DIII Divisions Placer made the long trek to Atwater (by Merced) for the DIII division championships. With teams like Oakdale, Vista Del Lago, El Capitan and Patterson, it figured to be a test for the Hillmen to see if they  could make it to the next level. Logan Moon, AJ Ferreira, Chance Clements, Justus Haskin, Bryce Cook, River Rogers, and Joe Valdez all made it to day two.  Valdez did not disappoint with a stellar performance against top section ranked Martinez from Oakdale. Losing a close match in the last seconds, Valdez went on to take third with a dominant performance over Vista Del Lago. AJ Ferreira and Bryce Cook both took fourth.   • FVL Championship In the first ever FVL championship tournament, the Placer Hillmen made it clear that their season was not done. Out of the 15 wrestlers that went (13 boys and two girls), 13 are going to divisions next week. Taking top honors were AJ Ferreira (115) and River Rogers (147). Both our seniors Bryce Cook (140) and Joseph Valdez (172) took second. Third place went to Logan Moon (108), Chance Clements (122), and Noah Cardelli (162). Finishing out our qualifiers in fourth place were Justus Haskin (128), Jacob Roe (182), Zach Moman (195), and Cameron Briggs (287). Abby Boynton and Saybra Silveria both go to Ceres for division championships, while the 11 boys that qualified go to Atwater. Tournament stand outs ...

At Divisions, Moon, Ferreira, Cook, and Valdez made it to Masters. Congratulations boys! Match of the tournament went to Bryce Cook who beat his Pondo nemesis in the blood round to make it to Masters!


Drake Rayburn finished his season at NU with a strong performance and a pin! Way to go Drake, see you in Freestyle.
