  • Division Championships It was a gold medal performance for the Placer Hillmen wrestling team at the D IV championships at Foothill high school. With 7 wrestlers making it to day two of the championships, Placer was poised to light up the mats against some tough competition. There was no "semi slide" for the Hillmen. Six of the Seven wrestlers win their way to the medal round. That means all six were going to be heading to Masters in Stockton next week.Finals action started with freshman AJ Ferreira at 108lbs. He made short work of his Rosemont opponent. Ferreira simply overpowered his adversary, pinning him in the second round.   • PVL Finale In Placer's PVL finale, the Hillmen definitely wanted to end on a high note. Placer's JV started things out with two champions. Mason Packheiser took the 106 pound weight class while Kane Kelley dominated the 132 pound category. That was just the beginning for your Hillmen. In Varsity action, AJ Ferreira got Placer going with a first round pin over Center to secure the top spot at 106. At 113, Logan "Asteroid" Moon took a solid 3rd place. Senior Gavin Sweeney takes his fourth consecutive PVL title at 120 pounds with a first round pin over Lincoln. Coach Pack's Corner

Preseason is about to begin. Let's make a splash in the FVL!! First preseason practice is at 6pm at the Forge on September 3rd. Summer camp makes for winter champs. Placer was well represented at JROB by Logan "Asteroid" Moon, AJ Ferreira, Kane Kelley, River Rogers, and Bryce Cook. River earned the prestigious Black Hat at the JROB camp in PA! Way to go Hillmen!!
